Feeling Good After Fifty

Cozy Gigi Update: Apparently We’re In The Maintenance EraIt’s Time

Cozy Gigi Update:

It’s time for another Cozy Gigi update, and honestly, I sat here wondering what in the world I was going to write about.

No big news.

No dramatic transformation.

No shocking number on the scale.

And maybe that’s the update. 😂

The GLP-1 Saga Continues…

The scale is still not moving.

At this point, I think it has developed an emotional attachment to my current weight. 😂

I’m still working on the things I can control. I’m trying to drink more water, make sure I’m getting enough protein, stay active, and continue working with my doctor to figure out why my body is being quite so stubborn.

Would I like to finally have a big exciting weight-loss update for you? Absolutely.

Do I have one?

Nope. 😂

But I’m still here and still trying.

Water & Protein — My Current Full-Time Job

Why does drinking enough water feel like an actual assignment?

I’m making a conscious effort to drink more throughout the day and focusing on getting enough protein with my meals.

Nothing revolutionary.

Just those boring little habits we’re always told matter—and apparently I have reached the age where successfully drinking enough water feels like an accomplishment. 😂

Annual Dermatology Visit ✔️

I also had my annual dermatology appointment.

It’s one of those appointments that isn’t particularly exciting to talk about, but it’s something I make a priority.

Taking care of ourselves after 50 isn’t always about losing weight or looking younger. Sometimes it’s simply making the appointments, getting checked, and doing the preventative things we’re supposed to do.

I’m counting that as another win.

And Then There’s the Hair…

If you’ve been following my hair adventures, you already know this story has had approximately 47 plot twists.

Extensions.

More extensions.

Extensions falling out.

Me declaring I’m done with extensions.

And now…

I have officially embraced the topper. 😂

The thing I resisted for so long may actually be the thing that works best for me.

It gives me the fullness where I actually need it, I can take it off when I want to, and I’m no longer constantly wondering which piece of expensive hair is going to fall out next.

Who knew?

Apparently sometimes you have to try everything else first before admitting the thing you didn’t want might actually be the answer. 😂

Maybe This Is What Progress Looks Like

This week isn’t about a number on the scale.

It’s about drinking the water.

Eating the protein.

Going to the doctor.

Finding something that makes me feel good about my hair.

And continuing to take care of myself even when there isn’t some dramatic before-and-after moment to share.

Maybe life after 50 isn’t one giant transformation.

Maybe it’s a whole bunch of little adjustments until we finally figure out what works for us.

And apparently, a good hair topper doesn’t hurt either. 💁🏼‍♀️😂

Still figuring it out. Still showing up. And still keeping it cozy. ☕️💕

Comfort, confidence & a little chaos.
