Goose’s Corner: Apparently We Chew Cords NowJust When I Thought

Just when I thought we might be settling into a slightly calmer phase with Goose, he has discovered a brand-new hobby.

Electrical cords. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not toys. Not the approximately 47 things in this house specifically purchased for him to chew.

Cords.

So far, the casualties include:

  • One lamp
  • One picture frame
  • One portable heater

And I have a feeling Goose considers this list a work in progress. 😂

I honestly don’t know what suddenly made cords so appealing, but apparently if something is plugged into the wall, Goose now sees it as a personal challenge.

The funny part is that he always looks completely innocent afterward. Those Aussie eyes seem to say, “What? Was that important?”

Yes, Goose. It was.

So we’ve entered another round of Goose-proofing the house. Cords are being tucked away, unplugged, moved and hidden because obviously the human beings who live here can no longer be trusted to leave their belongings within reach.

I’m beginning to realize that living with a young Australian Shepherd is basically an ongoing game of:

“What will he think of next?”

The donut incident should have prepared me for this. 🍩

It did not.

For now, Goose remains adorable, mischievous and apparently determined to keep providing me with material for this blog.

Stay tuned for the next installment of Goose’s Corner.

At this rate, I’m sure it won’t take long. 😂🐾

100% Aussie. 100% trouble. 100% loved. ❤️

P.S. Because somebody will worry—and rightfully so—we’re taking the cord chewing seriously. Electrical cords can be dangerous, so his newest hobby is definitely being shut down. Goose may disagree with management’s decision.
