Beauty After 40

New article

Hello, friends. Goose here.

We need to talk.

I recently attended what I was led to believe would be a perfectly innocent outing with my human.

Turns out, it was a setup.

THE VET. 😳

Now, I don’t know about you, but I have some very strong opinions about strangers touching me, poking around, and generally invading my personal space.

Apparently, expressing those opinions is frowned upon.

Because before I knew it, they put a MUZZLE ON ME.

A MUZZLE, PEOPLE!

Me! Goose! The handsome, lovable, slightly misunderstood Australian Shepherd!

You eat ONE box of donuts, chew a FEW electrical cords, and suddenly everyone acts like you’re some kind of criminal. 🙄

Okay, maybe those incidents aren’t related, but I feel like my reputation is following me.

And Then Gigi Started Crying…

Now, here’s where things got really interesting.

Apparently, seeing me wearing a muzzle was more than my Gigi could handle.

SHE CRIED. 🥹

Actual tears, people.

And honestly? I get it.

I’m adorable. I’m sensitive. And clearly, this was a very emotional experience for everyone involved.

I was upset because I didn’t want strangers messing with me.

Gigi was upset because she hated seeing her baby scared and uncomfortable.

So there we were.

Me wearing a muzzle.

Gigi crying.

And the veterinary staff just trying to do their jobs.

We are not a low-maintenance family. 😂

In My Defense…

I am a very good boy.

Mostly.

I protect my family from suspicious noises, delivery drivers, and occasionally completely harmless objects.

I provide entertainment.

I keep everyone active.

And I make sure no one gets too comfortable leaving food unattended.

Honestly, I bring a LOT to this household.

So what if I have a few boundaries?

The Ride Home

I can’t speak for Gigi, but I was ready to put the entire experience behind me.

Preferably with a treat.

Or six.

And maybe a written apology.

As for Gigi, I’m pretty sure she was just happy to have her boy back home, safe and sound.

Because underneath all the chaos, the chewed cords, and my questionable decision-making skills, I’m still her baby.

And apparently, we’re both a little dramatic. ❤️😂

Until Next Time…

I’ve decided to forgive my human for this unfortunate incident.

After all, she does control the treat supply.

But I want it officially documented that I did NOT consent to this fashion accessory.

And next time someone says, “Come on, Goose, we’re going for a ride!”

I’m asking questions first.

Stay handsome. Stay suspicious. And always read the fine print before getting in the car.

Love,

Goose 🐾

Gigi’s Note: All jokes aside, I cried because it broke my heart seeing Goose so frightened and needing a muzzle. I understand that the veterinary staff had to keep everyone safe, and I’m grateful they took precautions. But knowing something is necessary doesn’t make it any easier when it’s your baby. ❤️
