Week 2 on GLP-1: Less Hunger, More Awareness… and Apparently a Sleep Study Too
Well… here we are. Week 2.
And let me just say — this journey is already humbling me in ways I didn’t expect 😅
What I thought would be “take a shot and lose weight” is turning into a full-on get your life together, Michelle situation.
Appetite Changes (Still Wild to Me)
I’m still not thinking about food the way I used to.
Like… at all.
I get full faster, I don’t feel the need to snack constantly, and for the first time in a long time, food isn’t running the show.
And honestly? That part feels really good.
But now I’m realizing… when you’re not eating as much, you better make it count. So I’m trying to be more mindful about getting protein and actual nutrition in — not just grabbing whatever.
Energy & “Listen to Your Body” (Whether You Want To or Not)
Some days I feel great — steady energy, no big crash.
Other days I’m like… why am I this tired?
Not exhausted, just off a little. And I’m learning (slowly 😄) to listen instead of pushing through like I normally would.
Side Effects (Because Let’s Be Real)
I’ve still had a little nausea here and there — nothing terrible, just enough to remind me this is doing something.
And my restless legs are still making occasional appearances, especially at night… which brings me to my next little adventure.
The Sleep Study Surprise
So I did my sleep study this week…
Because apparently we’re addressing everything now 😂
I don’t have results yet, but between the restless legs, being tired some days, and just not feeling fully rested, I figured it was time to check what’s going on behind the scenes.
Because here’s the thing — this whole journey isn’t just about weight.
It’s about:
- sleep
- energy
- hormones
- overall health
And I’m realizing they’re all connected whether I like it or not.
The Mental Side (No One Talks About This Enough)
This part surprised me the most.
When food isn’t front and center all day, you start noticing your habits… your triggers… your routines.
It’s like, “oh… so this is what I’ve been doing all along.”
Not in a bad way — just eye-opening.
What I’m Focusing on This Week
Nothing crazy.
Just:
- drinking more water (always a work in progress 😅)
- getting enough protein
- moving a little every day
- giving myself some grace
Because I am NOT doing perfection over here.
Final Thoughts (Week 2)
This isn’t magic.
It’s not instant.
But it is working — and it’s making me more aware of my body than I’ve been in a long time.
